Feature Photographer: image33 photography

We want to once again thank the stunning image33 photography for being our guest judge this week! Please read more about her below and view a collection of her amazing images!

1.   Tell us a little about yourself (family, hobbies, etc.)

I grew up in Northern Michigan with Lake Huron, winding rivers, shallow creeks and yellow stretches of meadow running through all my best childhood memories. I am married to my rock and the mother of 2 beautiful, creative daughters who are both chasing their dreams and the grandmother of a rambunctious, sweet, amazing little boy.  I am a poet, a gym enthusiast, a gardener and an artist.

2. What got you started in taking lifestyle images (or photography in general)?

I was at a personal, professional crossroads 4 years ago and reached back for a life long desire. As far back as I can remember, I have wanted to be a photographer, and I have this crazy, unshakeable belief in myself.  It is based on a simple mantra that what one person can do, so can another. So I talked my husband into climbing on this ride with me and investing in my dream.  Best decision we ever made!

3. Any photographers that you look up to?

Oh there are so many!  I LOVE Elena Shumilova!  I am currently really influenced by her work and am striving to learn her ways!  I recently discovered Katerina Plotnikova and am blown away by her creativity. I really admire Meg Bitton and of course Annie Manning, she is an amazing business woman with a wonderfully creative eye. The way she dresses her models is crazy good.
I also absolutely LOVE the Humans of New York photographer. I love the combination of simple posing, complex thought and the poetry of the human story.  Wonderful work.

4. What is in your camera bag?
2 Nikon d700’s, a 24, a 35, a 50, an 85 and a 70-200,  a box of breath mints,  band aids (ever since a particularly bad, new shoe–wedding blister incident) spare batteries and spare keys (after a particularly bad keys in the gutter incident) J    It’s a live and learn process!

5. If you could shoot anybody in the world, anywhere, who and where?

Wow..  what a great question!
I’ve never actually thought about this. I LOVE showing people the beauty I see in them.  So I am happy with anyone I shoot…  But, if I have to choose…  one person…

Bill Clinton. Definitely, Bill Clinton.

So fun!! Head over to her Facebook page and show some love, https://www.facebook.com/pages/image33-photography/191417094240555!! You can also view more of her work on her website http://www.image33photography.com/index2.php!
